Do I need a permit in Lochbuie?
Lochbuie has the clearest container rule we have found. The Town says roll-off dumpsters and storage pods “may be placed on both public and private property for up to 72 hours without a permit.” After 72 hours, a dumpster on residential property needs a written Temporary Occupancy/Placement Permit, or the code treats it as a nuisance (§ 7-1-180), and that permit is issued to the owner or occupant, not the hauler (§ 11-4-30). On the street there are extra conditions (§ 11-4-20): the container goes in a lawful street parking area, only if there is no room on your own property, only while it is in active use, and it must not block travel lanes, interrupt traffic or take up more than a fifth of the width of a paved sidewalk. The Town sets the permit fee by resolution and we have not found the amount, so for anything past 72 hours, ask Town Hall (703 Weld County Road 37, 303-655-9308) when you book; we will time the pickup around the permit.
