Dumpster Rental in Denver, CO
Dumpster Rental in Denver
Our yard sits almost on the Denver line: Original Aurora begins at Yosemite Street, which is Denver’s eastern limit along East Colfax. So the east side of a city of about 740,000 people is our home ground. Montbello, Green Valley Ranch, Central Park, Lowry, Park Hill and East Colfax are all about 1 to 4 miles from the yard, and downtown is about 7 miles. Montbello is mostly single-unit homes built between 1970 and 1989; Green Valley Ranch and Central Park, on the old Stapleton airport, have mostly been built since 2001.
That makes two markets. Park Hill, platted from 1887, and East Colfax are older bungalow and ranch-home neighborhoods (in Park Hill’s 80207, 82 percent of homes were built before 1960), which means renovations, roofs and estate clean-outs. Central Park, Green Valley Ranch and Lowry are newer, so the jobs are move-ins, landscaping and garage clean-outs. On the east side a call before noon usually gets a same-day drop. One thing is different in Denver: the street permit belongs to the container company, not to you.

In Denver the street permit belongs to the container company, not to you. The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure (DOTI) says all dumpsters, roll-offs and other containers in the right-of-way require a permit, that “the permit for containers is ONLY obtained by the container company,” and that the company needs a Denver ROW Dumpster License number to place one. DOTI sets the conditions for each placement, and under the City code the manager of transportation and infrastructure can remove anything encumbering a street, alley or sidewalk; the owner of an unpermitted one pays the removal cost plus a penalty of up to $999 (DRMC §§ 49-246, 49-249). So you never apply yourself: if the container has to go in the street or alley, tell us when you book and we sort out the DOTI permit question before anything goes down. The Denver code we searched sets no rule for a container on your own driveway or lot. Denver’s Large Item Pickup takes up to 5 large items and 10 bags on your trash day, but not construction materials (concrete, bricks, fencing, pallets), appliances or electronic waste. For a total demolition, Landmark staff review the building first, and neighbors at the sides and rear must be notified at least 10 business days before the permit is issued.
Denver dumpster rental questions
- Is a permit needed for a dumpster in Denver?Every dumpster or roll-off in a Denver street or alley needs a DOTI permit, and only the container company can get it (it needs a Denver ROW Dumpster License number), so you do not apply yourself. The Denver code we searched sets no rule for a container on your own driveway.
- Do you deliver to Denver’s east side the same day?Usually. Montbello, Green Valley Ranch, Central Park, Lowry, Park Hill and East Colfax are about 1 to 4 miles from our yard, so a call before noon usually gets a same-day drop. Downtown is about 7 miles out.
- My Central Park home has an alley-loaded garage. Where does the container go?Often on your own apron in front of the garage, if there is room on your property; send us a photo and we will check. The alley itself is a public way, and in Denver only the container company can get the DOTI permit to use it.
- Will Denver’s Large Item Pickup take my remodel debris? No. It takes up to 5 large items and 10 bags on your trash day, but not construction materials such as concrete, bricks, fencing and pallets, and not appliances or electronic waste. A 10 to 20-yard is the usual answer.
